Pierce Family History/Genealogy

Young Pierce Family of San Saba Texas Web Site

Welcome to the Young Pierce Family of San Saba Texas Web Site where you will find genealogical information about BROWN, CARLILE, CARNLEY, CLEMENTS, ELMS, GRAY, O'NEAL, PIERCE, SCOGGIN, TOMLINSON, and other families that I am related to.

The purpose of this Web Site is to share genealogical data that we have accumulated over the years. Our hope is that you will find this data useful and in turn share your information to further extend our common family history. Out of concern for privacy issues there is no data presented here for living persons.

Most of these families migrated from the Carolinas to Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama. Many went on to Arkansas and Texas; some before and some after the Civil War.

If an individual's name is followed by (IMAGE) you may click there to view a photo. Should you have a photo of an individual that you think is appropriate to include here on these pages please contact me. I am particularly interested in photos of persons born before the 1950s. The earliest photo presented here is of Bird Pierce in Confederate uniform taken in 1862. He was 26 years old then and died the following year at Pine Bluff in Arkansas.

I offer this information as a tool to your own research and do not represent it as the last word. Indeed much of it was obtained from family members and other researchers and is not supported by acceptable source documentation.  I am happy to share/ exchange sources that are available and solicit your viewpoints.

Corrections, additions, recommendations, comments or shameless praises are welcome. I hope you enjoy your visit and return often.

  • The Genealogy Club of Albuquerque has published newspaper indexes and other documents including some documents for areas other than New Mexico. Of particular interest to Pierce Family researchers and Coryell Co. Texas researchers is the first official record of Coryell Co. reproduced in it's entirety with index. This document records the actions of the County Court from 1854 thru 1870 and is called Police Record A. Click here to read the Preface.
